What is nitrogen? people back along time ago said that nitrogen is a chemical because it mainly has alot of chemical reactions with most other elements, under normal labratory conditions. In 1772, Henry Cavendish discovered nitrogen when he passed air over glowing charcoals. After he had started to seperate other gases like carbon dioxide he had finally came up with the conclusion that nitrogen is more or less likely to be a gas.
